Local Marketing Agency Partners with U of M Students to Give Free Services to Not-For-Profit
ChangeMakers and the University of Manitoba Marketing Association launch project Bolster to provide free marketing campaign to a winning not-for-profit.
ChangeMakers and the University of Manitoba Marketing Association (UMMA) announced today their collaborative project Bolster. This pilot project provides a hands-on experience for marketing students from the University of Manitoba to help create and deliver a marketing campaign, while providing important resources to a Winnipeg not-forprofit to benefit the community.
A not-for-profit will be chosen from applicants for the students to take on as a client and
ChangeMakers to support using their expertise in the industry. This initiative gives students handson experience in the marketing industry and opportunities to showcase their talents and learn from experts. It is an excellent opportunity for the selected not-for-profit organization to reach the community through an effective campaign without spending critical funds.
“ChangeMakers is looking forward to providing students with an opportunity to learn real-world skills and give back to a deserving organization,” said Correy Myco, Founding Partner of ChangeMakers and Executive Vice President of the Argyle Group. “We want to provide the not-for-profit organization with a platform to support our community.”
“Having ChangeMakers on board and giving our members this opportunity is very exciting. UMMA’s goal this year was to provide students with more in-person experience and we couldn’t have asked for a better partnership. I am excited to see the final product and know that it came from a group of our students,” said Santiago Godoy, President, UMMA.
“I’m excited to see ChangeMakers partner with UMMA and create this opportunity for a not-for-profit to benefit from their expertise,” said Brian O’Leary, Superintendent of Seven Oaks School Division. “ChangeMakers has been an invaluable partner to our Wayfinders program, both as a founding board member and by providing pro bono marketing and communications. This lets our staff focus on their mission of helping at-risk kids graduate from high school and go on to post-secondary education.”

The University of Manitoba Marketing Association (UMMA) is a collection of results-focused and ambitious students at the University of Manitoba. A member of the Commerce Students’ Association, UMMA is geared towards students pursuing a marketing degree. With numerous events throughout the year including speaker sessions, academic competitions, networking opportunities and charity fundraisers, our goal is to provide students the means to create a strong network of other likeminded individuals. We want to support students throughout their degree and allow them to explore learning opportunities outside of the classroom.
